Girder Bridge, Indiana to Kentucky. Vertical-lift railroad drawbridge over Ohio R. Michigan drawbridge over a canal.
This girder bridge stretched across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY, to Indiana. This vertical-lift draw bridge carries train tracks from Kentucky to Indiana. Note the counter-weight - the concrete block beneath the upright section. This is another form of drawbridge over a canal in Michigan.

This bridge used to carry U.S. Rte.80 across the Mississippi River from Louisiana to Vicksburg, MS.  Now it carries pedestrians while vehicles use the new bridge. One of the towers of the George Washington Bridge, carrying I.95 from New Jersey to New York City. The Tappan Zee Bridge stretches across a very wide section of the Hudson River in southern New York.  The highway is I.287.
