Connecticut: I have traveled to and through Connecticut more times than I can remember. I.95, heavily traveled by cars and trucks, skirts the coast the whole length of the state. Rest areas and truck stops are available but they fill up early in the evening, so it's best to make it through the state in one jump. You can see many scenic views of the harbors and waterways along I.95. I.84 is the normal route from PA to Mass., either through Hartford, often slow and congested, or on I.691 from I.84 to I.91 and back to I.84 east of Hartford, to bypass most of the congestion. The biggest part of Connecticut is very hilly and convoluted, which means even the major highways, except for I.95, are a constant series of up and down slopes and curves. There are, I believe, about 5 decent-sized truck stops in the state - Milldale and Willington on I.84, which charge for parking, and a few others along the northern half of I.95 with free parking if you can find a space.
I am trying to remember products I hauled out of Connecticut, but most of my trips involved taking stuff into the state: plastic bottle caps for soft drink bottlers, windows and doors for construction and building supply companies, electric cable for public utility companies. Oh, there is a large paper company in New Milford, CT, where I picked up paper towels, toilet tissue, etc. Was it Kimberly-Clark? Connecticut does do a lot of manufacturing, but I am not sure what is made there.

| This blue dome is on a building along I.91 just south of Hartford. What is it for? | Part of the Hartford skyline early evening from I.84. | Contorted rocks along I.84 showing white layers that had squeezed between the gray layers long, long ago. |

Look "Inside the Mind of Mikie Metric." Read about Global Warming, Islamic immigrants, body art and styles. |
| Waterbury fills the bowl of a broad valley with I.84 curving down into the bottom of the bowl, where this impressive church sits, then up the other side. | Also at the bottom of the Waterbury bowl is this tall, brick clock tower. Is it a factory? a school? a church? | |
