Photos of American Power Line Towers by Trucker Mike: Page 1 |
Page Two: |
I don't know where many of the following electric power line towers are located because I never labeled the original photographs. Their location did not interest me as much as their varied designs did. I had never realized how many different styles there were until I actually began looking at them. Of course, I then had to record my observations. If you know of a type or style that I have missed, send me a picture of it and a note about its location. I will be glad to incorporate it into this site (and give you full credit for the contribution).
Note: Copy and save any of the photos from this site FREE or purchase larger, printable photographs for a modest fee. Contact me via the e-mail address at the bottom of this page.

| A "slingshot" tower in New York. | I can tell this is Ohio because of the route sign. | The location of this impressive tower is a mystery to me. |
These photos have all been cropped and enhanced to make them look as good as they do. It is tough to aim the camera and give it time to auto-focus with one hand as I steer the big truck down the highway with the other hand trying not to run over anybody. I have missed many potentially good pictures because conditions were too unsafe to try for them.

| Triple towers in Ontario braced on the right to allow for a sharp left turn of the power lines. | Here is a double-pronged tower somewhere in Ohio. | Bob from Philadelphia tells me that this tower is located beside the Schuylkill Expressway, I.76, about 8 miles from downtown Philly. |
I have received many e-mails from visitors to this site telling me I had labeled a bridge incorrectly or that a particular water tower was located somewhere other than where I had said, or telling me where something was if I wasn't sure. That's fine. I then make appropriate changes on the web pages. Some people have written to me to tell me that they had worked on or helped construct a particular bridge or tower featured on this site. That's good, too. I enjoy learning more about the things I have seen.

| Simple wooden pole tower in West Virginia. | I don't know where this tower is located, but it is a fairly common design. |
